Frequently Asked Questions

Your guide to everything Suspecto — from account setup to advanced case investigations.

1. What is Suspecto?

Suspecto is an immersive, browser‑based detective platform where you solve interactive crime cases, track your XP, and compete on global leaderboards.

2. How do I create an account?

Click “Sign Up” in the top navigation, fill in your details (full name, username, email, phone, password), agree to the Terms, and you’re ready to start investigating.

3. How is XP awarded?

You earn XP by successfully cracking cases, finding key clues, and completing bonus challenges. Harder cases yield more XP, helping you climb the ranks faster.

4. Can I reset my password?

Yes—on the Sign In page, click “Forgot password?” and follow the email verification steps to securely set a new password.

5. Are my investigations saved?

All your progress—notes, case status, and evidence collected—is automatically saved to your profile. You can resume any case at any time.

6. How do leaderboards work?

Leaderboards rank detectives by total XP earned. Seasonal competitions reset quarterly, with badges awarded to the top performers.

7. What if I get stuck on a case?

Use the “Hints/Tips” tool in the Case Tools library. It provides contextual nudges without spoiling the solution.

8. How secure is my data?

We use HTTPS, salted & hashed passwords, and strict session controls to protect your account. No sensitive info is ever shared publicly.

9. Can I suggest a new case?

Absolutely! Reach out via the Contact page with your case idea. Our creative team reviews submissions weekly.

10. How do I log out?

Click your profile icon in the top nav, then select “Log Out.” This securely ends your session and clears local session data.
